Coffee Société @ Publika, Solaris Dutamas

It seems to me that almost every cafe in town (or maybe just Publika alone) has to be Melbourne inspired, Coffee Société included. Their menus are also so similar to each other that nowadays, ambiance comes first when hanging out over a cuppa. I usually have little to no expectations on the food when eating

The Box Chalet @ Langkawi

Accommodation is usually the most expensive part of any vacation. If given a choice, I think everyone will choose to stay at a luxurious hotel or resort over hostel and budget inns. But lets get realistic, hard-earned real money is involved and we spend most of the day visiting the attractions and by the time

Gantetsu Hokkaido Ramen @ Isetan Eat Paradise, One Utama

If I have learned anything from eating Ramen, its that there is no general best Ramen out there. Just for the soup alone you already have choices of Shio, Tonkotsu, Shoyu and Miso. Then theres the spicy and curry variants and many other emerging flavours with tens of combination...

Traditional Hong Kong Dessert @ Luk Lam Dessert 綠林甜品, Sham Shui Po

So there you are having a blast eating your way around Hong Kong. The night comes and your sweet tooth is craving for something to munch on. Now before you decide to gorge yourself silly on yet another round of Hui Lau Shan, why not try something more local and traditional? And that something does

Ah Yat Roast Duck @ Restoran Hoi Kee, Jinjang Utara KL

Since the nameless dim sum restaurant we wanted to eat at Jinjang was closed, we went to this this roast duck stall called Ah Yat which is just across the street. There are other alternatives in the area like Bak Kut Teh, Pan Mee and mamak food but we were more in the mood for

Viva Garden Serviced Residence @ Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok

Of the thousands of hotels to choose from in Bangkok, we picked Viva Garden Serviced Residence and we could not have been more pleased with our choice. The main reason we booked Viva Garden was because of its excellent reviews. After 4 nights of pleasant stay here we could not help but give a

Double Boiled Abalone Dim Sum Buffet @ Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant, Life Centre

Thanks to efficient advertising and the immense popularity of Ah Yat, his Abalone Forum restaurant always comes to mind first whenever the word abalone is mentioned. It had never crossed our mind to have a meal here until we spotted a rather attractive deal on a group buying website. For...

Penang Hawker Food @ Restoran HL Yee, Kepong Baru

I finally found a place that serves decent Penang hawker food in Kepong. And the best thing is that I dont even need to travel far for it because it is hardly a five minutes drive away from my house. Restoran HL Yee started their operations about two years ago. I remember at that time

Departure Lounge Cafe @ Solaris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

Many people seem to give Departure Lounges (DL) breakfast a favourable review but again, I find myself on the opposite side of the fence. Coffee was the only reason why I wanted to try DL, and it should be yours too. As for their breakfast, keep your expectations low because it was mediocre at best.

Pier 21 Food Court @ Terminal 21, Bangkok

Terminal 21 might not be the biggest nor the best shopping mall in Bangkok, but we found ourselves returning here several times during our short stay mainly the restaurants and food court. One unique feature of Terminal 21 is its airport concept so the staff is dressed in airline attendant uniforms.

Wild and Wonderful Asian Fruit Smoothies

** Guest post by Analise King. Analise is a travelling food writer who spends as much time as possible in Asia. Living in tropical Southeast Asia definitely has its benefits. One of them is being able to tan all year round. Another is the abundance of juicy, vibrantly-coloured and weird-looking fruit. This...

The Cliff Restaurant Bar @ Pantai Cenang, Langkawi

The most beautiful restaurant in Langkawi? I wouldnt know. But I am pretty sure The Cliff Restaurant Bar would be one of top candidates for having the best sea view restaurant in Langkawi, and maybe even the whole of Malaysia. For those at Langkawi planning on celebrating a special occasion...

LG’s Perfect Match LA8600 (Top Range of TV) + BH9530 (HTS)

It has always been a dream of mine to own a man cave that is equipped with the state-of-the-art personal home theater system. Even though I am still trying hard to make that dream a reality, at least I had the chance to experience the real thing at the recent LG Fiesta Roadshow held at

Curry Mee @ Restoran 168, Jalan Brunei Utara – Pudu

Pudu Plaza is the place to go whenever I need to service my camera. I always make it a point to go only in the morning because the traffic getting there could get really ugly after that. The newly renovated Pudu Plaza is surrounded with food and the great thing is most of them are

French Pastries @ La Chocolatine, Pantai Tengah Langkawi

Bonjour! Surprised to find a French bistro in Langkawi? So am I. La Chocolatine does not call themselves a French bakery just because they bake and sell French pastries. Patrick, the owner himself is originally from Essonne and is an experienced pastry chef who have worked more than 25 years in the...

S.Wine Café @ B.I.G, Publika Solaris Dutamas

Wondermama Restaurant Cafe @ Bangsar Village 1

As a Nyonya Laksa lover I am glad I found out about Wondermama at Bangsar Village 1. Theirs are definitely one of the better and authentic ones you could find in the city. But be prepared to fork out cafe price for this hawker dish because Wondermama is sort of like a high class mamak,
